Sausage Bran Burgers


1 egg, beaten
4 tablespoons skimmed milk
50 g/2 oz All Bran breakfast cereal
450 g/1 lb pork or beef low-fat sausage meat
salt
freshly ground black pepper


Mix together the egg, milk and cereal and allow to stand until the milk has been absorbed. Mix this with the sausage meat and seasoning. Divide the mixture into 8 and shape into burgers. At this stage the burgers may be covered and refrigerated overnight.


Place the burgers on a baking sheet and bake in a moderately hot oven (200C/400 °F, Gas Mark 6) for about 30 minutes or until cooked through. SERVES 4
